Last year I blogged by the seat of my pants. It was my first year participating in the A to Z blogging challenge. I had no plan and was completely random. However, that randomness led to my most popular pin on Pinterest–and it was on Q of all days! People still visit my site because of that pin. (Quick Tea for Kid’s Tea Parties)
But this year, I want to try a theme. Between last year’s challenge and this year’s, I had a YA novel published. Cinderella’s Dress (Entangled Teen) is a fairy tale set in the 1940’s. I can’t decide if I should blog about fairy tales or the 1940’s. Can I have a show of hands?
I think it depends on if you want the factual/nostalgic feel, or the magical feel. What would give you more pleasure to write?
Both, Andrea! That’s my problem. Are you doing A to Z this year?
Both would be great. I think a lot of people choose fairy tales, though. Either way, your posts will be interesting.

A started a list to see how many letters I could fill off the top of my head and it’s coming out pretty even, although I think 1940’s will be easier since I have a lot of the research already at my fingertips. And since I have this great list going, I’ll be ready for fairy tales next year. Unless I decide to do them this year. *Meep*
I would love the one on Fairy Tales 🙂 Good luck with whatever you decide, of course. Challenge is going to be fun. My second year this time, but first with my new blog.

Thanks, Shailaja. I’ve got a few more days to decide before the fun begins.
I’d vote for the 1940s. There’s enough weirdness and remoteness to capture a bit of that fairy tale magic — (Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein, anyone?) — and you have the benefit of a whole real world’s worth of history going on. Sounds very cool either way, though.
Abbott & Costello! Haven’t watched one of their films in a long time. *nice distraction to put off deciding for another day*
As a storyteller, I will obviously say fairy tales 🙂 I love to read what other people think about them, and which ones they like 🙂
