Pinterest is a great place to find art inspiration. I started with a board for doodling, and as I began filling up the board, I discovered the art form of Bible Journaling or Illustrated Faith.
This was completely new to me, and I immediately loved it.
Trouble was…could I really draw in my Bible? More than just my scribbled notes?
Which led me to rethink my lack of hand lettering skills. Which led me to participate in this year’s Index Card a Day (ICAD) challenge to try to improve said skills.
One of the images that caught my eye was from Andrea Chebeleu over at A Work of Heart. She got her start in scrapbooking and now has a studio in San Jose where she offers all kinds of creative classes.
What I liked so much about her Bible journaling pages was they were accessible. She uses clean, easy lines, which *with practice* I think I can do too!
This verse from Joshua is one of her examples. See what I mean? If you’d like to see more of her work, click on over to the blog post she wrote (for me!) here: Hand Lettering and Bible Journaling. She’s got some great examples in that particular post, and a lot of other interesting pieces on her blog.
And if you are in the San Jose area, she’s got a Bible-Journaling meetup every 2nd Saturday afternoon of the month. I would love to go to that! Check it out: Hand Lettering and Bible Journaling
