Teenage slang from the 1940s

I looked at several primary sources to help form the speech patterns of my 1940s characters in my novel, Cinderella’s Dress. I read diaries, letters, and vintage magazines, and tried to stay true to the research.

      I think the bees knees is from the 1930s. Not sure when “cool” became cool.
