Oh, the Index Card a Day challenge! It was a challenge for me to create art every day. Even if it was only on an index card. This last week I slipped into research mode instead of creative mode. (I do the same with my writing sometimes–the research is so fascinating!)
So my art output went to nil this week, but I spent a lot of time exploring other people’s art and found an amazing community on Facebook called “Documented Faith” started by Stephanie Ackerman. She’s issued a year-long faith art journalling challenge that you can join at any point.
Then I switched over one of my Pinterest boards I was calling Amazing Grace into one of my design categories Design: Illustrated Faith. Now I can go to town pinning inspiration.

Going forward, I think my Sundays will be reserved for artwork. During the week my creative priority is writing and with Camp NaNoWriMo nearly upon me, I’m about to dive all in. The other reason I never completed the ICAD challenge was that I was finishing up a class I was taking with my daughter on smocking. Our teacher is a beautiful 86-year old grandma who loves to smock and is teaching my daughter how to use a needle and thread with much more patience and gentleness than I would muster;) Here are some photos if you don’t know what smocking is…and of course I had to start a Pinterest board to collect ideas.

Index Card a Day Challenge sounds like a great challenge for artists. I could easily turn that into a challenge for writing. Like a paragraph (index card size) a day.
Your designs are lovely.
Good luck with Camp NaNo!
Visiting from the A to Z Road Trip. 🙂
Hi, Chrys, thanks for stopping by. Sounds like you love a good challenge, too. I find I get more accomplished when I participate in something like A to Z or NaNoWriMo than if I just went it alone.
