This week I’m borrowing my kids’ art supplies to complete the index card a day challenge. I realize I am sadly lacking in my own collection of paints and markers. I’ll have to visit the craft store as a reward for making it halfway through June! After usingĀ The Art of Whimsical Lettering by Joanne Sharpe for several days now, I’m convinced I need to start an art lettering journal to play in. These index cards have been a nice, low investment way to get started, but after this challenge, I’ll continue to practice in a journal.
Day 15: Positive Negatives
Day 16: Abstracted Image
Day 17: Playing with Scraps
I had an index card I was using to test out my watercolors, and then I tested out a quote to figure out how much space it would take up on a card…and decided I liked the quote on the piece of scrap. I then added more words to it:
I confess I haven’t been doing the challenge, but I’ve been thinking about it. Today I decided to create a logo for a weekly feature on my new blog, ARHtistic License. The name of the the feature is Monday Morning Wisdom (a quote about the creative life that pops up on Mondays), so I used the initials MMW to fashion a wise little owl. I think this link should take you to the logo: http://arhtisticlicense.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/mmw.png
Oh, that’s great Andrea! And I like your idea for Monday Morning Wisdom–good way to start off the week.
