So at one of my signings I met a YouTuber who introduced me to BookTubers. My life has not been the same since. BookTubers video-blog about reading/books/their bookshelves, etc.
And then I found out this week there is a read-a-thon going on. A reading marathon with a twist–to read and video-blog a whole bunch of books in one week. PLUS participate in fun challenges along the way, such as yesterday’s challenge to recreate a book cover.
From what I can gather, this event is the brain-child of fellow-Canadian Ariel Bissett (LOVE this girl. She’s got both heart and spunk. A powerful combination) and her pal Raeleen Lemay (whom I ADORE. Seriously, watch her videos and you’ll see what I mean. She is adorable.)
They’ve also got accomplices–other hosts to offer challenges and giveaways. I am hooked, and I may have to rearrange my summer plans next year so I can participate. Woot!
Here’s Ariel’s intro video explaining BookTubeathon 2014 on the dedicated YouTube channel for the event:
